Jonathan Yung’s solo debut EP, DISCO CITY is a mix of disco inspired instrumentals and pop songs celebrating simple post-Covid freedoms - being out and about, walking our city streets and dancing with friends.
Written in collaboration with Club Weld facilitator, Pasko Schravemade, DISCO CITY shows off Jonathan’s effortless musicality, accomplished keyboard skills and exquisite pop vocals.
Cross The Road is a shimmering disco confection, taking its time to fully unfold and weave a melody that is both catchy and sophisticated, while Maggie charges out of the speakers like the greatest floor-filler 12 inch single you never owned.
DISCO CITY features a bonus club mix of Cross The Road produced by the sensational June Jones.
Also to be released are two music videos for tracks, Cross The Road, directed by photographer, Lyndal Irons and Disco City, directed by digital artist, Serwah Attafuah.
Jonathan writes and records at Club Weld, a studio/skills and development program for neurodivergent musicians located at Arts & Cultural Exchange in Parramatta.
He has recorded at the Sydney Opera House, collaborated with the River City Voices symphonic choir and was featured on Art Works on ABC TV.
DISCO CITY releases on October 30 to Spotify (courtesy of ABC Music), Bandcamp and CD.
